The Heart of the Ocean diamond necklace is one of the most iconic pieces of jewelry in the world. It was made famous by the film Titanic, in which it was worn by the character Rose DeWitt Bukater. The necklace is said to be worth $20 million, and is one of the most valuable pieces of jewelry around the globe. This one is made of a blue diamond, which is said to be the rarest type of diamond in the world.

This cool necklace is so valuable because of its rarity, and because it has such a rich history. This jewel was made in the early 1900s, and has been passed down through the generations. It is said to be a symbol of love and devotion, and is one of the most popular pieces of jewellery ever.

4. Hutton-Mdivani Jadeite Necklace [$27.4 million]

4th in our top list, this masterpiece is made by Cartier with emerald green jadeite beads, ruby, platinum, diamond, and gold clasp. It was sold by that huge price at an auction in 2014. I really like the big contrast between the jade and that beautiful red of the ruby.

In summary,

In 1926, the Hutton-Mdivani jadeite necklace was created by Cartier. The piece was designed with six jadeite beads, each measuring approximately 27mm in diameter, and separated by diamond roundels. The necklace was a gift from Daisy Fellowes to Barbara Hutton, and was sold by Sotheby’s in 1987 for $1.8 million. The Hutton-Mdivani jadeite necklace is considered to be one of the finest examples of Cartier’s work. The piece is incredibly rare, and the six jadeite beads are a perfect example of the quality of jadeite that was available in the 1920s. The necklace is a beautiful example of Cartier’s craftsmanship, and is a truly unique piece of jewelry. What do you think about this necklace?

3. L’Incomparable Diamond Necklace [$55 million]

This is our favourite and I guess most of you will vote for this modern everlasting designed piece of jewelry. There is no rival for it in the industry and if you find any, let me know and I will definitely do a deep research. Does Mouawad ring any bell in your head? Of course it does! Is the best jeweler ever born on this planet! David Mouad designed this piece of art which was sold at the Singapore Jewel Fest in October 2013.

Wanna know who bought it? I do too, but we couldn’t find this info yet. It is anonymous as many other buyers of such expensive items.

Key takeaway!

In 1869, a French jeweler named Charles Lewis Tiffany purchased a 287.42-carat diamond at an auction in Paris. He had the stone cut into a 128.54-carat oval brilliant, which he named the “Tiffany” diamond. In 1878, Tiffany’s chief gemologist, George Frederick Kunz, designed a necklace to showcase the diamond. The necklace, which featured 16 graduated pear-shaped diamonds, was dubbed the “L’Incomparable” diamond necklace.

It was first exhibited at the 1878 Paris World’s Fair, where it garnered rave reviews, and then put on display at Tiffany’s New York store, where it remained on view for nearly 100 years. In 1987, the necklace was sold to an anonymous buyer for a reported $5 million. The current whereabouts of the necklace are unknown but this product is worth $55 million.

This 637-carat diamond necklace has set a huge record in Guinness World Records, as being the most expensive necklace.

2. A Heritage in Bloom [$200 million]

By creating this piece, Chinese artist Wallace Chan, has exceeded himself and any other creation he has ever made. 19 colorless diamonds, almost 600 pink ones, 114 gorgeous icy green jadeites, and some 72 white mutton fat jades.

How would your mind imagine such a mix? How would you design it? Have a look through these pictures below to see what means the designing of such an expensive diamond necklace.

Among its posesors we can find Henry Philip Hope, Pierre Cartier and Evalyn Walsh McLean. This most expensive diamond necklace in the world was then purchased by Harry Winston in 1949. He decided to donate the piece to the Smithsonian Institution, so this is the place where it is displayed right now.
