Your branding may be polished with a few clicks and swipes using online graphic design tools like Canva (online graphic design app with awesome visual materials) and Adobe Express ($100 per year) from Adobe (that offers a lot of cool stock images and image templates).

In my opinion, Adobe features, in contrast to Canva, are intended for seasoned designers, and the advanced photo creation, editing, and toolkit features are its strongest advantages.

With this program, organizations may improve graphic designs, animations, digital paints, drawings, and more.

It is the greatest picture editing application available since it offers enticing editing choices. Yet for novices, it requires some effort.

But what if you could create a professionally designed artwork from a blank canvas with just a few words❓

That will be feasible using Microsoft Designer! ✅

I just got accepted into it and I’ve decided to write a short review.

I have to say this is NOT a competitor to Figma, but rather to Canva (it has a freemium business model; while you can use this tool for free, it has its limitations, and it’s highly recommended to upgrade to its PRO version, which is about $100 per year, more or less, depending on your country of residence when you sign up).

At first glance, this brand-new Microsoft product resembles Canva a lot, but how does it really compare? Let’s find out…

For those that don’t know, Microsoft Designer is a graphic design app in Microsoft 365 that helps you create stunning visuals for a range of projects [1], from social media posts and invitations to logos and website banners.

I’m personally happy that Microsoft finally decided to enter this market because it has much to offer as a company (and much to benefit from too).

This tool leverages the DALLE 2 technology by OpenAI [2], which uses natural language processing to suggest visuals based on the text you input.

You can also use it to create animated content, build interactive projects, and more. Microsoft Designer is available for free and as part of Office productivity software package, but you have to join a waiting list first (like I’ve done, but got accepted in 2 weeks max) [3].

A preview version of Microsoft Designer may now be obtained as soon as it is published by signing up for the waiting list. The business will continue to provide a free tier along with a premium version once the app is made accessible for all people.

You can join the waiting list below:

Microsoft introduced Microsoft Designer, a new visual design software, during its Surface event on October 12.

Similar to the well-liked substitute Canva, the AI-powered tool will let users to create stunning graphic designs and photos by only inputting a few phrases.

Keep in mind that only beta testers can access Microsoft Designer and it’s never been easier to work with black canvas, according to the catchphrase featured on the website for this creative tool.

This Microsoft app will connect with Bing search and the Microsoft Edge browser in addition to being a part of a Microsoft 365 subscription. The simplest technique to generate visual designs using AI aid may be with Microsoft Designer, a great concept to use AI to develop quicker ways to produce high-quality photographs.

Because of the strength of text-to-image artificial intelligence technologies, it may represent the future of design.

We’ll go through the whole rundown and key features of this brand-new graphic design tool in this article.

Quick Takeaway!

A new graphic design software called Microsoft Designer is driven by DALL-E 2, an open AI technology, and Microsoft AI technologies.

Microsoft Designer aspires to claim the ability to produce expertly tailored visuals combining words and images using AI technologies. This software for graphic creation using AI is Canva’s main rival.

A 40 billion dollar firm called Canva has simplified graphic creation for non-technical users and today, Microsoft Designer appears to use AI to make graphic creation more approachable than Canva.

Microsoft Office has 345 million paying customers, despite Canva’s 100 million active users in 190 countries and popularity as a creative tool. The Designer app is already in use as a component of PowerPoint Designer, assisting users in making presentations that appear better thanks to AI. It is anticipated that it will eventually be included into additional Microsoft products.

According to Microsoft, the product’s primary audience is consumers. Yet as time goes on, we’ll see that the app starts to focus more on use cases for businesses.

A graphic design program is not all that Microsoft Designer is (there is more than that). You only need to type a few phrases or sentences to conjure up the ideal image, and that is the outcome of utilizing DALL-E 2, an AI tool that can make your concept a reality. Hence, all you have to do to have an exquisitely made image is add some text, which the Designer will accomplish for you.

The corporation has promised that no violent or explicit sexual material would be included in the service’s artificial intelligence training. There wouldn’t be any development of incorrect interpretations as a result.

Main Features!

In order to compete with its rivals and make graphic creation simpler for everyone, let’s look at the main features Microsoft Designer offers.

DALL-E 2 AI Integration

The AI picture generator is this design app’s major draw. Microsoft sponsors OpenAI business that just released DALL-E 2 last year. This artificial intelligence tool is used by Microsoft Designer to produce bespoke designs more quickly and effectively. Consumers just need to enter text, and the AI product will generate design patterns on its own.

The corporation has also taken measures to prevent the creation of offensive content and to encourage a wider range of replies. Microsoft Designer is already in a special position because of its AI integration.

Several beautiful templates and patterns

This graphic design program employs models and templates to produce images rapidly. You may pick the design that works best for your branding from a variety of design options.

Also, you may receive inspiration from their extensive portfolio to create eye-catching designs. You don’t have to go through thousands of templates, though. You may enter words to describe the image in Microsoft Designer’s start-from-scratch mode, and it will produce that sort of image for you. You may easily improve your design with a few clicks by using different designs and templates.

A collection of 100 million excellent photos and clips

More than 100 million photos and videos are available in Microsoft Designer. They have improved visual quality to highlight your content and design.

The Designer offers millions of photos you can use anywhere to make professional social media posts, presentations, cards, posters, papers, or any other design.

Features Motion Graphics

The app’s professionally created motion graphics are another intriguing element of this visual creation tool. These dynamic animations may be used by users to create more interesting designs and lifelike films. It will enable various motion graphics, such as slideshows, backdrops, logos, and transitions, to provide variety and interest to the design.

Fast sharing and direct social media publishing

Last but not least, Microsoft Designer enables you to post your creations straight to social network profiles. Also, you may transfer the design to your smartphone for rapid sharing. Also, compared to its rivals, this new tool seems to be simpler to use.

The cost of Microsoft Designer has not yet been disclosed by Microsoft, but they will offer a free version of the graphic design program, nevertheless. I think that Microsoft Designer could be able to surpass Canva, one of the most valuable private technology businesses in this space.

In my opinion, Microsoft’s incorporation of AI allows it to surpass Canva. I think that Canva is poised to compete with Microsoft by including more Office-like features, though. In fact, it introduced a presentation picture creation tool similar to Microsoft Powerpoint in 2021.

The software has a Microsoft Word-rivaling document editing program available by August 2022, and according to the business, 55,000 paid teams use Canva’s office software.

These users come from well-known corporations like Salesforce, Pfizer, Amazon, and Pepsi, among others.

Watch this space for additional developments. We’ll keep you informed of the price levels and any new details.

Who is it for❓

I think this tool is designed for anyone who wants to create professional-quality visuals for a range of projects, such as social media posts and invitations, logos, website banners, and more. It is also great for animators, interactive projects, and more.

This is an interesting combination between Canva and Dalle 2. It even has some of the premium features from Canva (like background remover), but offers them for free.

This is how the interface looks like:

Below I’ll leave some cool images & designs I have created with this app so you get an idea of what is capable of (I mostly used DALL-E 2 image generation feature):

I don’t think it has that much knowledge about Naruto or anime in general cuz for the prompt of Naruto against Sasuke I literally got this sh1t! :))

Also, in terms of houses you get results like this:

I also asked for houses in a style from Skyrim (I think it does a pretty good job with this one):

Here I asked for some dutch fantasy cottage, rural and I liked the results.
